We closely tracked prices of 12 popular products across Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart during last year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as well as this year’s Prime Day. Here’s what we found:

While Prime Day offers good deals on some items, it’s not always the optimal time to shop for everything. Our analysis before Prime Day revealed that great deals can surface at any time, not just during major sales events.

Out of the 12 products we monitored, five were priced lower today than during last year’s holiday sales. However, it’s worth noting that prices on products like the LG C3 and Samsung The Frame TVs may be lower now due to newer models replacing them.

On the flip side, Black Friday and Cyber Monday proved to be better times to purchase items like the iRobot Roomba i5 vacuum and Hatch Rest+ 2nd Gen sound machine for kids. Cyber Monday also outperformed Prime Day for kitchen gadgets such as the Instant Vortex Air Fryer and Keurig K-Classic coffee machine.

While Prime Day showcases discounts on a variety of products like vacuums, coffee makers, and kitchen appliances, shoppers should verify the quality of discounts through price-tracking sites, especially for higher-ticket items.
